Deep Dive into the Thermal Bottle

At Outisan, our goal is to create products that solve the problems we face when exploring nature. It’s what we’re passionate about and the reason we embarked on this journey to make the great outdoors more accessible to everyone.

We know the feeling of being out in the wild, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and just when you’re ready to sit down and enjoy a refreshing drink, you realize that your water has gone lukewarm or your coffee is ice-cold. That’s why we set out to create the ultimate solution for all your hydration needs: the Thermal Bottle.

Whether you’re an avid hiker, a passionate camper, or simply someone who loves spending time in nature, you know that staying hydrated is key to a successful trip. While staying hydrated outdoors is a necessity, we also believe that no one should have to compromise on the temperature of their beverages or the quality in which they are carried in when out exploring the world. Our latest product, the Thermal Bottle, is the result of this belief and each of our team member’s love for adventure and problem-solving.

That’s a lot of liquid

Looking at the Thermal Bottle, you might think to yourself, “Wow, that’s huge!” And you’re absolutely right — it’s big, like really big. But that’s because we wanted to create a thermal bottle that stands out in a market crowded with smaller, run-of-the-mill bottles. With a whopping 64 ounces of pure liquid capacity, the Thermal Bottle is designed to quench the thirst of even the most parched adventurer. We didn’t just make the bottle supersized for the sake of it — it was designed with a purpose. Our aim was to provide the end-all-be-all hydration solution for the outdoors, eliminating the need to pack multiple bottles and ensuring that you never run out of water or precious coffee mid-adventure.

Most of us would agree, however, that life’s greatest things should be shared, whether that’s with family, friends, or your four-legged companion. The bottle’s detachable insulated cup allows everyone to enjoy a sip without having to pass it around like a hot potato. So, it’s not just about the amount you can carry with the Thermal Bottle, it’s also about the convenience it provides for sharing with those around.

Long-lasting insulation

Do you realize all of the amazing things you can do in less than 1 or 2 days? People have traveled to the moon, conquered cities, and everything in between. The Outisan Bottle’s insulated stainless steel gives you the ability to keep your beverages piping hot for 24 hours or freezing cold for 48! Let’s dive into some things you can accomplish from the amazing to the mundane — before your coffee loses its heat or those last pieces of ice melt.

  • The Millennium Falcon Lego set has 7,541 pieces and takes an estimated time of 35 hours to build, meaning your icy cold beverage would still be icy cold once you click that last piece in place.
  • Franklin Barbecue in Austin, Texas is known for slow-cooking its meats for up to 18 hours. So just in case, you’d like to cook dinner up to the standards of a world-famous BBQ joint, now you know how long to prep ahead.
  • Assuming an average hiking speed of 3-4 miles per hour, and an average distance of 25 kilometers for the classic Inca Trail to the top of Machu Picchu, you could hike up to the top in about 21-28 hours. Make a hot brew in the morning, don’t walk at a snail’s pace, and you’ll be at the top with a bit of hot coffee still in your thermal.
  • It takes an average of 32.63 hours to read Leo Tolstoy’s War & Peace — if you’re looking for a light read.
  • The extended edition of the Lord of the Rings trilogy has a total runtime of approximately 11 hours and 22 minutes. The extended Hobbit trilogy has a total runtime of approximately 11 hours and 42 minutes. So in total, it would take you approximately 23 hours and 4 minutes to watch all of the movies. Just under the amount of time that your drinks stay hot in the Outisan Thermal Bottle + only half the time your drinks can stay cold.
  • A road trip from Toronto to Orlando covers at least 1,280 miles and takes a minimum of 20 hours of nonstop driving, without accounting for any detours (or all the bathroom breaks you might need).
  • Assuming a marathon distance of 26.2 miles and the global average marathon time stands at 4 hours and 21 minutes, you could complete a total of approximately 11 marathons in 48 hours (please don’t do this) — all while technically only filling up your bottle one time with ice water.
  • During the Apollo 11 mission, Neil Armstrong and “Buzz” Aldrin spent approximately 21.5 hours on the Moon, including a moonwalk that lasted about 2.5 hours. So if you’re ever planning a similar moonwalk on your own, don’t forget to bring your hot coffee along!
  • This one may be a bit controversial, but according to monopolyland.com when playing by the normal Monopoly rules, a game of Monopoly will last around 45 minutes on average (although we are very skeptical of this statement). That means you could finish 64 family fun-filled games of Monopoly in 48 hours (again, we’re just presenting information; this is not necessarily the opinion of Outisan).
  • We hope you’ve enjoyed learning about all of the amazing (and not so amazing) things you can do in 24-48 hours, all while keeping your drinks super hot or ice-cold in our Outisan Thermal Bottle.

Improvements to the Thermal Bottle

The Thermal Bottle has been a staple in the camping world for quite some time, but at Outisan, we saw room for improvement. We didn’t want to reinvent the wheel but rather give it a much-needed facelift. After researching and conducting extensive field tests, we discovered that many bottles on the market had their strengths but ultimately fell short in other critical areas.

One major area that required attention was the detachable lid. While a great feature that can act as a cup, these cups were often less durable than the rest of the bottle. Owners of these bottles complained about the damage these cups would often take when used repeatedly. That’s why we fortified every inch of our Thermal Bottle with 18/8 stainless steel first, and then wrapped it in an additional plastic casing, ensuring longevity for both the bottle and lid.

Another headache we found among many thermal bottles was their narrow openings, making them difficult to clean, pour, and add ice. We solved this by providing an extra-large opening, making cleaning a breeze, adding ice easier than ever, and pouring your beverages without any fuss.

Carrying the bottle was also a concern of ours. Most bottles only offer the option of carrying with an attached handle, but at Outisan, we understand the importance of having your hands free while out in nature. That’s why we designed our bottle with a reliable nylon shoulder strap that can be easily attached, offering you an alternative to the traditional carrying method.

For our fellow coffee lovers, have you ever experienced opening a thermal bottle only to realize the grave mistake you’ve made as the piping-hot steam explodes upwards? With the pressure of hot liquids inside normal thermals acting like a ticking time bomb, our 2-step release spout is designed to ensure a controlled release, so you can enjoy your drink without the fear of scalding yourself or creating a mess.

What a read, right?

Thanks for sticking with us to the end (We know it was a lot)! Remember, whether you’re out camping, hiking, or just need a reliable bottle, Outisan has got you covered. Get yours today!
